WINTER 2009-2010 Tournament Rules
1. Any team using an illegal player will forfeit the entire tournament and the Team rep and players involved will be suspended for a number games to be determined by the BOD.
2. Substitute goalies may only be used from your tier or a lower tier, and must be a rostered goalie with our association or listed as a sub on the league website. Your goalie must be injured or unavailable to play for you to use a substitute.
3. All games will be played using the following format; Two minute warm-up, Three 15(fifteen) minute periods using a running clock for all but the last five minutes of the third period. There will be a one-minute break between periods. The last five minutes will be stop clock. Each team will be allowed one (1) time out lasting one minute. If a team takes their time out during a running clock portion of the game, the game clock will be stopped for the time out.
4. Any player receiving a fighting major is out for the entire tournament and any games remaining on a suspension after the tournament will be served next season.
5. There are no appeals of playing rules, period. Once the game is over, it is over!
6. Any other appeals must be noted on the official score sheet. Failure to do so will be grounds for immediate dismissal of the appeal. You have a choice of two options for appeals. The first being that the matter will be decided by the BOD member in charge of that tier, if his team is involved, the person will be the League President as long as his team is not involved. The other option is having an appeal heard by the entire BOD, if 51% of the BOD cannot meet and decide the issue before the next scheduled game for the teams involved, the appeal is automatically denied.
7. Ties at the end of regulation will be decided using a shoot out. Each side will use five players. After the initial five, the shoot out continues in a one player Sudden-Death shoot out format. Players may not be used again until all players have shot. When a team runs out of players, players may be used again, at that time the opposing team may start over also. Any player serving a penalty with time remaining on that penalty at the end of the game may not take part in the shoot out. (i.e. a player takes a 2 minute minor penalty for cross checking at 1:30 left in OT, he has 30 seconds left on his penalty and cannot be used in the shoot out.)
8. The format for the championships may be altered/extended if ice time allows. Both teams will be informed of the format prior to the start of the game. The BOD member in charge of monitoring the game will have the final say.
